Review: Lauren's Way Instant Tan

Thursday, 23 August 2012

I got this product in the goody bag from bloggers boutique back in May and hadnt really had a chance to use it until recently. For holidays i tend to use the dove gradual self tanner (an all time favourite) and only use instant tan for nights out.
I was a bit apprehensive at first because it comes out a really dark colour onto the tanning mitt. To quote my boyfriend "youre going to look like an ethiopian!", thats how dark it is. But when it is applied it goes a lovely brown colour, not too orange, and it spreads really evenly. It is a lotion rather than a mousse and i love the consistency of it, it dries really quickly and doesnt leave your skin sticky. Another bonus is that it doesnt smell bad like some tanning products do, i personally liked the smell of it. When it came to washing it off it came off really easily in the shower just using soap and water, and no marks were left on my towel after so i know it all came off.
I would definitely recommend this as a product and might look at purchasing another bottle when its finished.

Product summaries

Friday, 20 July 2012

This is something a little different from my normal posts. Generally i dont use many products (except for my nails). I dont have a particular skincare routine and my hair usually gets a brush and a blow dry straight out of the shower. But lately there are a few things which i have been using and really love, so i thought i would share them with you.

1) Figs and Rouge balm (peppermint and tea tree) - i got this in the bloggers boutique goody bag a couple of months ago and it has nearly run out. It smells really nice and has a good consistency, feels very moisturising on my lips. The only downside is the tin is quite difficult to open and its only a small tin.

2) Flexitol cuticle and nail cream - i started using this because i often get skin peeling around my nails and its made a real difference. It has a slightly odd smell but is a nice thick cream which sinks into the skin and helps to heal around the nail.

3) Daisy by Marc Jacobs - this has been my go to perfume for a few years now. This is my second bottle and i use it all year round. Its such a lovely fragrance, i wish it lasted a bit longer during the day though.

4) Simple hydrating light moisturiser - this is my daily moisturiser now and i like how light the cream in and how easily it sinks in. Especially in comparison to the Nivea moisturiser i bought recently. The only advantage of the nivea one is that it contains spf 15.

5) Hand Food by Soap and Glory - this bottle has nearly run out! But i think i will be buying another one. It has such an amazing smell and i find it sinks into my hands really quickly.

Hope you like this kind of post :) have you tried any of these products? What are your go-tos?
