Just a few photos of the gingerbread cookies i made a few days ago. They were quite rushed so didnt turn out quite as i expected, but they still tasted great! Might have another go and bake some more for when all the family come round.
In other news i got an offer at Manchester university, which i am really excited about, because i had my interview less than a week ago! Just have to wait and see if i get anymore interviews or offers now.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and i cannot wait for christmas. Sooo excited.

Put some new shoes on

Tuesday, 20 December 2011

Urban outfitters - £35

Got some new shoes yesterday when i was out shopping in leeds. I have been looking for winter boots for ages. Bought some from urban outfitters online a while ago but they just didnt fit properly and had sold out in other sizes. Then i ordered a brown lace up pair from topshop which were too narrow, surprising though cause i have really narrow feet anyway! Tried a couple of pairs on in leeds yesterday but none were quite right till i saw these bargains under a clothes rack. They are so comfy i could wear them as slippers! And are fur lined all the way through so should hopefully keep my feet warm through these next cold months.

I am really looking forward to christmas now. Done all my shopping, all the decorations are up, relaxing into the holidays. Now just waiting till all the family arrive on christmas eve :) Its my favourite part about xmas because they live in london and new york i dont get to see them that often. Love having everyone together, and happy.

Knitted dress - Topshop
Glitter clutch - Urban Outfitters
Heels - Matalan

Just a couple of pieces i am lusting after at  the moment. The shoes i saw over at Claires blog, but i really need to get away from black heels! Maybe these in a different colour? Especially since most of my dresses are black. This dress is like the perfect dress for christmas. I  love the colour of it and all the detailing round the top. But its pretty expensive for what it is so i am hoping it goes in the sale or they have a big discount day. Ive been meaning to buy this clutch for a while and probably will now its free delivery. Its the perfect size for phone, cards and a bit of money. Just what i need to festive up an outfit when i go to town.
What do you guys love at the moment?

Sometimes its hard to follow your heart

Sunday, 4 December 2011

Today we got out the christmas decorations. I put up a mini tree in my room and we started to put odd bits around the house. Then we went and bought our christmas tree! This has to be on of my favourite parts of christmas. The whole family gets involved trying to get it to stand up straight in the pot, a million attempts at getting the lights to work, choosing what the colour scheme will be, putting all the decorations on it, and finally the star on top. I will try and get a picture up later of the final product.

Had a great weekend this weekend with my girls. Had a night out last night which basically made my whole week. Really cant wait for the christmas holidays, more nights out and get to see all my family for christmas. The only downside is that i will have to revise for january exams :(

I popped into leeds this afternoon too, in the horrid rain. I went to get the UO boots i bought in a bigger size but they didnt have them! So i just had to return the beautiful boots. It was made slightly better that i found a bargain of a jumper in topshop which i will try get a picture of this week for you guys. Its so lovely, and even better because of the fact i nearly bought it when it was full price.

Monday, 28 November 2011

Not posted for a whole week cause ive been pretty busy! I have been doing quite a bit of driving and am really enjoying it, all good practice for when i take my test as well. Also worked loads, which can be a complete pain, but gets me lots of extra money which is really helping at the moment. Especially in this run up to chirstmas. (Getting rather excited about christmas already!) Got a few pressies sorted but still waiting to do a secret santa at college so i know who i am buying for. I put my fairy lights up in my room last week which look really lovely on these dark afternoons.
The mittens in my picture are from my latest asos order, along with a few other bits and pieces that i will show you. The boots i ordered from urban outfitters came too but they are too small :( need to get into a store so i can get them in the next size up. I have also been completely suckered in by urban outfitters's xmas gift guides, someone stop me before i buy things i dont need!

Sunday, 20 November 2011

Its already getting pretty cold so i need to hurry up in buying some winter boots. But i cant decide which pair to get. These are some of my favourites. I was drawn the the Deena & Ozzy lace ups last time i was out shopping, but never bought them. What are your favourite boots this season?

Blouse, trousers & blazer - River Island
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins

This is what i wore to my interview this morning. Wanted to go for something different rather than blacks and grays felt this was much more 'me'. The interview went well, i think. Only lasted 12 minutes though! And although i had more to say, i felt confident and answered well. One down. Got another interview on 15th december at manchester which is good.
Hope everyones enjoyed their week. Loving this colder weather, able to layer up all my clothes. Should really put any summer clothes away though to make more room on my hanging rail. Its my dads birthday tomorrow which will be nice. Pancakes for breakfast, a round of presents and football with him in the afternoon.

Oxblood and Wedges

Tuesday, 15 November 2011

Went out for yet another 18th on sunday night. It was at this amazing old theatre called the Picturedrome where they had hired out the top balcony. I got ready with my friend Deanna at my house, love getting ready to go out. I wore my new dress that i bought from topshop this week, which was a bargain at only £18! with my new black wedges.

(i have the weirdest smile)

At the weekend i also did loads of driving, getting in practice so hopefully i can take my test soon. I also had lunch with my granny and grandad which was lovely :) and i worked for 12 hours, which is a lot for me on a weekend!
I have a lot of work to do for college lately and keeping on top of that is like trying to climb a mountain. Especially when i am also trying to prepare for my interview at Liverpool university this friday. I bought my outfit for this last night though so i'll get it up here asap so i can find out what you guys think of it. I am very nervous for it..

Saturday, 5 November 2011

For me this is the year of the 18th birthdays. Unfortunately my birthday isn't until July next year, which means fake id for all the birthdays before that. Going to town tonight for one of my closes friends 18ths and this will be my first night out! So last week we went shopping for her birthday, to buy dresses and heels. I invested in a one sleeved black bodycon dress with cut out sides from Lipsy and two pairs of wedges.

Both pairs are from a shop in Leeds which i had never been in before. They were only £25 a pair which i thought was a bargain! Before i have never really been one for heels because i couldnt justify spending topshop prices when i probably wouldnt wear them that much. Now i just want more pairs..
Looking forward to tonight, hoping it all goes well. And then also cant wait for the bonfire i am going to tomorrow with some friends. Anyone else going to bonfires this weekend?

Halloween Treats

Monday, 31 October 2011

Yesterday i made some halloween themed buns because i just couldnt resist. I first made rainbow buns with a friend when i was in year 8 and have loved making them ever since! So i altered the colours slightly to just orange and black for these buns. They are made with a basic sponge recipe (which i have shown below) but then go crazy with the colours and decorations.

100g margarine
100g caster sugar
100g self-raising flour
2 eggs

1. Beat together the marg and the sugar.
2. Then beat in one egg at a time, adding a little flour with each egg.
3. Fold in the remaining flour.

That is the basic recipe. However then i added a bit of vanilla essence, because the colouring can sometimes alter the flavour. Then to get halloween themed buns..

4. Split the mixture into two bowls and added different food colouring to each.
5. Spoon the mixtures into the bun cases, adding the different colours in random ways.
6. Place in an oven at 180 degrees for about 15 mins.

To decorate i sprinkled a pinch of icing sugar over any of the top bits which were showing black, this gave them an eerie look! And on the mainly orange tops i iced on some halloween shapes. Here is the final product:

I love this picture. I would love to own a quilt like this, might make one one day.

Its half term this week so i am off college. I've been to watch football with my dad at the weekend. I spent a day with my brother where we baked cookies and went swimming. And then a day with my granny and grandad where we visited Cliffe Castle Museum and saw an exhibition by David Hockney. The museum was so much better than i thought it would be, such a random selection of exhibitions, i really wish i had taken a camera with me. This holiday i still have lots i am going to do. Shopping with my friends tomorrow in leeds, an 18th birthday, work for college and baking for halloween.

Collars and funny faces

Tuesday, 18 October 2011

This is what i wore today, with more layers of course. I love the collar on this shirt and cant wait to wear it under my new knitted jumper with just the collar poking out. I cant take outfit photos outside anymore really because by the time i get home its too dark! So this cream wall in my living room will have to do.
I am actually looking forward to this colder weather, the chance to layer up tops jumpers and coats, and drink lots of hot chocolate. I will get some photos of my new winter coat for you soon. Also think of doing a post on my expanding collection of nail varnishes. Probably need to sort them out to be honest!
