Neon jumper and black vans

Wednesday, 23 January 2013

Top - Primark, Earrings - Ever Ours

All underwear - Topshop

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Boots, 'Green Room' nail varnish - Topshop

Both jumpers - Topshop, Vans - Office

I let myself have a little retail therapy last week after my exams finished and these were the bits i picked up. I originally went into topshop to buy the black full length jumper, but came out with two cropped jumpers, oops. Usually i'm not a fan of cropped items and dont think they suit me that well but i loved the thought of styling these with long blouses, pretty dresses and high waisted jeans. The nail polish was an impulse buy (i cant seem to come home from shopping without at least one nail polish!). Unfortunately its quite similar to AA Pacific Beach which i already have.
Vans our some of my favourite shoes to wear and i have worn my other white/black pair so much they have holes all over so i treated myself to a new pair because i know i will get plenty of wear out of them.
I have been watching a lot more youtube videos lately and, although i am not a big wearer of make up, i really enjoy watching Tanya Burrs make over videos and it has inspired me to try a few things out. It also means i have a huge wishlist of items i want to buy! The Rimmel Stay Matte powder is something she uses in nearly every look so i thought i would see what it was like.
The earrings are from an online order from Ever Ours who have the most amazing sale on the last of their stock. I also bought a blouse from them and will have that up in an outfit post soon. When i opened my order up there was also a little surprise in the form of a little mouse ring which i absolutely love!

Minnie dress

Monday, 22 October 2012

I posted about the items i had picked out of the topshop sale last week, and thought i would show you one in an outfit post today. It doesnt photograph that well and looks much better irl. But this is a little dress by Annie Greenabelle for topshop.

This is the first time i have done an outfit post in my uni room. With a bit of rearranging of the furniture i can set up my tripod to get photos against a blank wall. My face wasnt cooperating in these photos though hence why it is just pictures of the dress (although thats all that matters!). I would pair this with my large parka coat from topshop that i got last year because its definitely too chilly to wear on its own.
The last photo is a quick snap of how i have been doing my hair quite a lot lately. I have left it curly and clipped it back with some large jaw grip clips from boots. Its a really easy way to get my fringe back out of my face without just tucking it behind my ear which gets a bit boring.

Topshop sale picks

Monday, 15 October 2012

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

Got an email about the topshop sale this morning and i know how fast things can sell out so i got my order in early! The first top is the kind of thing i wear really often, and i love the elbow pads on this so this was added straight to my basket. And it was a bargain at £10. This drop waist dress will look great layered up for winter, im thinking with thick grey tights, a cardigan and a big parka coat. Both 3 and 4 go quite well together i think and this tee will be a staple in my wardrobe. At £40 i would never pay full price, but £20 is more reasonable. The dress is a bit different and i have been looking at getting some slightly smarter clothes since i will need to wear them during my placements at hospital. Not sure if this is a little too posh though.
What are your picks from the sale?

Max Factor: Fantasy Fire

Wednesday, 12 September 2012

I ordered this and this last week as some new storage bits for my uni room. I am going to use them to store my nail polishes and jewellery, and i love the acrylic because you can still see what is inside them. I ordered the deep one for my nail polishes but the only problem is that i cant fit them all in. In fact i can only just fit half of them in, i have too many colours! So you know what this called for.. i needed to obviously go buy another polish! I saw this one when i was in town earlier this week and fell in love with the shade. I havent tried max factor polishes before so will let you know how it is.

It comes out lighter and more purple than you would think from looking at the bottle. But i still love the colour. The only downside is that because it is a mini polish the brush is small so application is harder.
I move out tomorrow morning, so next time i get round to blogging will be from a new room at university! I am still looking at buying a camera so that i can take outfit photos. Had some good advice from people on twitter so i know what i am looking for now. Hope everyone is well.

Autumn's arriving

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

I seem to have a habit of looking at random bits of my room when i am making a video, just ignore it haha. Ive definitely been drawn to autumn pieces lately, i think it is one of my favourite seasons in england. My favourite purchase is the studded shirt from zara. It was one of those items i saw and just couldnt leave the shop without. I hope these videos are okay. Personally i think i sound pretty annoying! But it really is the easiest way to show you the things i have bought.

I have been trying out a few new hairstyles lately. Its not really something i have ever done on this blog but would anyone be interested in me showing a few? It will probably just be some photos of the finished product rather than a tutorial because they are simple styles. Let me know because i love to read them on other peoples blogs and watching youtube videos.

Ps. I am looking at buying a camera for uni, because i usually use my mums and still want to be able to take good photos when i am away. I would love some advice on what to get so if anyone is good on cameras then give me a bell.

Chiffon and pleats

Vest: H&M, Skirt: c/o OASAP, Converse: Office

Actually not raining for once! So i have managed to get some outfit photos in, and the weather forecast looks good for today so think i will take some of the things i have been wearing the past few weeks.
This skirt arrived in the post yesterday morning (put it on straight away!). I got this as part of OASAPs fashion hunter program, it is a really great idea and some other brands have started schemes like this too. Its a great way to showcase what they have and it means i am constantly finding new stores. The skirt arrived after just 6 days which i think is pretty reasonable, and the skirt is so lovely. Oh and did i mention postage is free?! The skirt is a great quality material and was a bargain at around £16, think i will have to buy it in more colours! They have some really unique pieces up on their site so definitely worth a visit - link in the sidebar.

Dreaming of summer

Saturday, 14 July 2012

I bought this bikini just a few days ago after seeing it online. I absolutely love asos delivery, one of thie big reasons i shop there. This bikini was a steal in the sale at only £13.50! The material is so soft and i love the colour and the pattern. I have been on the hunt for nice bikinis/swimsuits for a while and this one is perfect (it is still in stock here if you want it.) I have also placed quite a big order on Oysho which is a shop i had never heard of before, but they had some really lovely swimwear in the sale. I am a sucker for a bargain.

I go on holiday in just over a week to portugal with my family and my boyfriend, cannot wait! Its already up at around 30 degress which is a little too hot for my liking. But i am looking forward to being able to wear my summer clothes and get my bikinis out.
I am also looking forward to my birthday which is in 10 days! Finally i will be 18 :)

Latest buys

Friday, 15 June 2012

Awkward video time. I really want to find out how to edit videos (any good suggestions?) cause some bits in here need cutting out cause i sound like an idiot! But here it is anyway, because it really is much easy to video what i got rather than take photos of everything.

Links to all items: maxi dress, leather bag (sold out), turquoise sandals, black sandals, boat shoes, pink shorts, lilac shorts, ankle socks, floral bandeau, floppy hat (not online)

Hope you like this haha. I do actually quite like watching videos of the blogs i read because people never sound like i expect them too! I have 4 more exams left now, except two are general studies so dont really count.. This weekend though we have a cousin staying over from australia which will be nice. I have only ever met him once when we went to australia when i was 12 so i dont have a clue what he is like! Also looking forward to the football tonight, come on england. Just wish this weather would clear up and give us some sun! And thank you for all your lovely comments on my latest posts, really makes my day :)

Elf Cosmetics

Saturday, 9 June 2012

Its a little late coming but here is what i bought from Elf last week.

Left to right: Fair Pink, Twinkle, Matte Finisher, Black

The only polish i have tried is the Twinkle one, and it looked great on my nails after two coats. The only problem i had was getting it off! It took at least 45 minutes to get off! I really want to try out the matte finisher but just havent had a chance yet. The false lashes are really just for a night out, i like to wear them so that i look more made up than during the day :) And i would really recommend the lip tint. It is very moisturising and gives a lovely colour on my lips.

I am just coming into the thick of my exams now with 5 in the next two weeks so i really need to get down to some solid revision. But then after the 25th i will have completely finished and i cant wait. Some really great things that i am looking forward too. Oh and dont forget to enter my giveaway that finishes next week.

Haul video

Wednesday, 11 April 2012

H&M: maxi dress, £9.99 - playsuit, £14.99 - lace top, £6.99 - vest top, £3.99
Primark: dress with cut out top in black and yellow, £6 each
Miss Selfridge: lilac skinny jeans, £36
Boots: models own in Lemon Meringue, £5 - garnier hand cream, £1.99 - lip balm, 90p each

Okay so i sound pretty strange! But her is my first video. I filmed it using photobooth on my macbook and the quality isnt too bad. I only did one take because the lighting was getting bad, and i havent edited it (because i dont have a clue how to), so hope you guys like it. I made it because its an easy way to show you what i bought today, otherwise it might be a while before i get them into outfit posts. If anyone has any video making tips they would be really useful!

I also showed you my nails, will get a tutorial post of those up soon. But they really are so simple to do. My inspiration came from Erin for the diy nail stickers and they really are such a great idea. Might have a go at a few other shapes soon too. On the theme of nails, does anyone know where i can get hold of the topshop nail art pens that came out at the end of last year? They dont seem to stock them instore or online anymore..

Purple shirt

Saturday, 31 March 2012

Warning, this post has quite a few pictures:

Shirt: charity shop. Leggings: river island. Backpack: asos. Espadrilles: office.

This is what i wore yesterday to college, been meaning to post an outfit in this shirt for a while. I bought it when i popped into a charity shop because i had ten minutes before my bus. So glad i went in because i honestly love this shirt! A perfect colour for summer and at the moment i wear quite a few shirts over leggings.

I am trying to work out how to record a video with sound on my mac, because when i tried it before with photobooth it didnt seem to work. Any ideas? If i do get it working think i might make a little haul video of some of the things that i have bought recently to show you guys because i dont really do enough outfit posts. Hoping to go shopping next week, have seen so many bloggers wearing lovely clothes which i need want.

Looking forward to these easter holidays! Already had one sneaky easter egg, ooops. Get time to spend with my boyfriend, see my friends, watch hunger games and go shopping. I also have a fair bit of college work to get done but am feeling surprisingly motivated. Just hope it lasts. Dont forget you can follow me on twitter :)

Dreaming of sunshine

Sunday, 19 February 2012

Converse: Office
Watch: Casio
Bracelet: Yayer
Nail varnish: Topshop (post to come soon)

This is one of the items i have bought recently. Its not warm enough to wear it out like this yet, but i cant wait till it is! I dont usually buy much from miss selfridge, and although it was fairly expensive, i justified it because i had some vouchers from christmas which i could spend there. I love the shape of this playsuit, they often just look too big around my hips but this is the perfect size. It also has spots and a little lace insert collar, what more could you want?!
I seem to have given up with febphotoaday, i wish i had a smaller better quality camera and it would be so much easier to take pictures. It became too much of a hassle rather than fun. Hoping to get an iphone soon, then i'll be able to get instagram :) Right, its the last day of the holidays and i still have lots of work to do so i best crack on.

Skulls and bicycles

Jumper: charity shop, Jewellery: Sawyer and Scout, Leggings: River Island, Socks: Happy socks

Experimenting with somewhere else to take outfits photos, seeing as taking them outside today definitely wasnt an option! What horrible weather we had today. Just misty rain that soaked your clothes and made my hair curly. This is just a simple outfit, i pair a lot with leggings these days because they are so easy to wear. I also wore my white lace up converse and a big parka coat but cant really photo them inside.

The last photo shows the gorgeous new jewellery that ive bought from Sawyer & Scout. Its a bigcartel shop run by the lovely Erin from etc. It has some really great pieces of jewellery and im sure i could have bought more if my bank account had let me! So you should definitely go check out her shop and blog.

Lately i have had so much work from college, so i am doing that thing where i dont have a clue where to start, so i dont start. Which becomes a bit of a problem when the deadlines come up. I have a really big practical chemistry project that i am in the middle of, and i also have to write a 5000 word dissertation about prevention vs cure in medical terms.. So naturally i am creating lots of other little projects for myself to distract me. But hopefully that will mean more content for the blog :) hope everyone is happy and well.

Crosses and females

Wednesday, 25 January 2012

Somehow i ended up shopping in Leeds on sunday, when i should have been revising. But whilst i was there i bought these lovely things. It was still 20 percent off so they came to a decent price in the end as well. All of these are from topshop. The two tops are from a brand called Realitee and i couldnt decide between them, so got both. They are really easy to wear and go with the kind of things i already have. And these shoes.. they are so comfy! And the white soles just totally sold them to me. One exam left now, and then the next thing is getting my macbook. Excited!

Polka dots

Thursday, 12 January 2012

(crappy background)

These are the leggings that i mentioned a few days ago. Now i love the colour of them and the spots and seams are all done in velvet. But im a bit unsure on the length. Most things i wear with tights or socks, dont have much this length and dont really have many shoes that would suit something like this. So i dont know whether to keep them or not.. Help?!

Hope everyone is having a good week. This one has gone so fast for me! But its been a good one. Just need to get my exams done and out the way over these next couple of weeks and then i will be able to relax a bit more.
